Ever wonder which women in the country are most searched on Google? Any guesses?
After a two-month analysis between Jan-Feb 2014 here is a definitive answer to which successful Indian women got ogled the most! Here’s a list of those who made it to the top spots in the survey!
On the occasion of Women’s day, the search engine giant disclosed the list of the 20 most Googled Indian women in the last two months.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has grabbed the top slot of the most searched successful Indian women on Google. The beautiful Bachchan bahu has hit headlines over the last few months, due to her come back plans and primarily because of her alleged differences with her-ma-in law Jaya Bachchan.
The former Miss World was followed by the ‘Kahaani’ actress Vidya Balan who ranked number two in the coveted list. UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, was on the third spot. Rounding up the top five spots were Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa and Badminton player Saina Nehwal at number four and five positions respectively.
The list of comprised of seven names from the film and the fashion world and four that wielding political clout among others.
Others in the 20 list included, film producer Ekta Kapoor, former Indian Police Service officer Kiran Bedi, West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC chief Mamata Banerjee, Neeta Ambani, senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj, writer and social activist Arundhati Roy and fashion designer Ritu Kumar.
Actress and social activist Shabana Azmi, another designer Neeta Lulla, director Meera Nair, PepsiCo chief Indra Nooyi, boxer Mary Kom, writer, columnist and socialite Shobha De, Managing Director and CEO of Axis Bank Shikha Sharma and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav’s wife Dimple Yadav also features on the recently released list.
A statement said, “On the occasion of Women’s Day, Google search trends reveal who are the most searched 20 successful Indian women. Kiran Bedi is still among the top 10 most searched Indian women. Two sportswomen (Saina Nehwal and boxer M.C. Mary Kom), two authors (Arundhati Roy and Shobhaa De) and four politicians (J. Jayalalithaa, Gandhi, Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee and BJP leader Sushma Swaraj), also made it to the top 20.”
